Description :	Sculpture comportant une importante base. Des bandes de métal horizontales encerclent la base et la figure afin d'éviter les fentes longitudinales du bloc de bois. Le bâton de chantre et la main gauche (?) sont rapportés.

Historique :	Cette statue de saint Israël pourrait dater de la 2e moitié du 17e siècle : elle a peut-être été réalisée vers 1659 pour les premières ostensions septennales inaugurées cette année-là au Dorat.

Précision sur_l'état :	Polychromie moderne. Statue restaurée par Daniel Nicaud en 1995 : fixation du livre et du bâton après consolidation du bois.
Précision_sur la representation :	Le saint porte sur son surplis blanc une longue chape rouge doublée, avec chaperon frangé. Sa soutane noire, évasée dans le bas, découvre des chaussures à bout carré. Son visage est souligné par une barbe en éventail rejoignant une abondante chevelure coiffée en calotte. De la main gauche le saint tient un livre fermé, l'autre porte le bâton de chantre peint en blanc. La terrasse est peinte en rouge.
