Historique :	Cette Vierge de Pitié, vraisemblablement du 17e siècle, appartenait à la veuve de M. Pénicaut (maire de Limoges de 1876 à 1881) qui la donna à la paroisse d'Aureil.

Précision_sur la representation :	La Vierge assise dirige son regard vers le visage du Christ. Elle est vêtue d'une robe, d'une guimpe et d'un manteau drapé. Elle porte avec délicatesse sa main gauche sur sa guimpe. Le Christ repose sur ses genoux, la tête très nettement inclinée en arrière.
